GPOYW: City Pages Summer in the Cities Cover, June 7, 2006

City Pages art director Nick Vlcek concepted and pulled off this great cover. And today, I found out he is leaving City Pages. (Brauer has the story on MinnPost.) Nick and I worked together at the alt weekly – he’s a cool guy and a great art director. Nick shot the Summer cover photo at Wirth Lake in Theodore Wirth Park while editor Steve Perry pulled on a rope attached to a dull s-hook hanging from my lip. The lure was photoshop’d in later. Turned out awesome.
