My iPhone camera app is fubar. It started last night when I tried using the new feature where you can take a photo while the phone is locked.

I took a photo, then tried to view the photo and got a message that I can’t view the photo because my phone is locked – that’s a good security feature, of course, because you don’t want someone to be able to view all your photos.

But then the camera app crashed when I tried to unlock the phone. I was able to unlock the phone and relaunch the photo app, but it seems like the Photos database is corrupt. I can still take photos, but weird things happen:

• The thumbnails are wrong – click on the thumbnail and it’s actually a different photo.
• The thumbnail for one photo is used for other photos, too.
• The thumbnails are just all BLACK or just all WHITE
• A few photos have been completely BLACK when viewed on the phone. When I downloaded them to iPhoto, the photos were just fine.
• When I try to upload a pic to Instagram or Tumblr, it’s either the low-resolution thumbnail that gets uploaded, or selecting the photo crashes the app outright.
• Sometimes, when I click to ‘email’ the photo or “delete” the photo, I get a message “Saving Photo” (see screengrab above) WUT?

Very disappointing. Anyone else have this happen?
