I sat across from Derek Wallbank at work today, which is unique because he is usually working in Washington DC reporting as MinnPost’s DC correspondent. He’s in town this week to interview Al Franken at the State Fair on Sunday August 29th.
Anyway, I looked and declared, “You should probably have a MinnPost tie. Everyone in DC wears ties, no matter what, right?”
Derek seemed to agree. It then occurred to me that his Bio illustration by Hugh Bennewitz would make a damn nice looking tie, maybe.
Five minutes later, I posted the Derek Wallbank Bipartisan Tie on MinnPost’s new Zazzle store (pictured above).
I’ve been wanting to make some MinnPost Zazzle stuff for a long time. My coworker Corey and I short list of ideas, so I’m thinking I’ll take 5 minutes every week to create something new. We’ll post new items on MinnPost’s Tumblr with the tag “store”, or you can check zazzle.com/minnpost.
