@iFollowEyes now following nearly 1,000 eyes on Twitter!
This started out one year ago as just a simple curious question: What would the Twitter “Following” grid look like if you only followed profiles with eyeball profile pictures?
One year latter and @iFollowEyes is following 962 eyes!
This was before Twitter Lists, so I had to create a new profile, @iFollowEyes. I then started following the eyeballs (or “Eyevatars”) when I happened to see them.
My friend Dave actually got me thinking about it when he started Twitter and loaded this photo as his profile:
Kinda creepy, huh? That’s actually his dog’s squeak toy. Turns out, a lot of other people had eyeballs for profile pictures, too.
After Twitter Lists launched, I found others who curated Twitter Eyeball profiles as well. I’ve followed the eyeball lists here when I see them.
Gotta admit, that grid of eyeball profile pictures turned out pretty nice. (Click on the image above for a bigger version.)
