I like this photo – it was posted by emergentpattern. My grandfather, Carl Leo Hoessel (who I was named after) worked for Miller in Milwaukee back in the day. Miller has had so many different logos/cans/beers – this photo of the ‘old-school’ can reminds me of when I was younger, when my Grandpa was alive. Growing up, I noticed over time that Grandpa didn’t drink beer a lot even though he worked at a brewery. My Grandma confirmed: “He only drinks a beer with a good ham sandwich.”

I actually found this pic when I read this post, where the photographer wondered why it was getting so many reblogs, noting “it’s mostly teenagers from California”. I thought I would explain my reason for reblogging it.

Damn I miss my Grandpa.
