I learned what an “Elf on a Shelf” is last night. I’ve never heard of it before.
The Elf on a Shelf watches the children’s behavior and reports it back to Santa each night. By morning the Elf returns to its assigned home and hides in a different location, allowing the children to play a delightful hide-and-seek game.
When the kids are asleep, parents move the thing to different spots every night.
Okay. Traditions are cool. But it seems to me that having a guillotine next to the Christmas tree would be slightly less creepy.
