<\/figure>\n<\/p>\nThat’s a screengrab from a conversation @justacoolcat<\/a>\u00a0and I had about a recent post by @chrisborgan<\/a>, who had unfollowed 130,000+ people on twitter<\/a>\u00a0because he was getting over 200 Twitter SPAM Direct Messages a day.<\/p>\n I don’t know if Chris Borgan did the unfollowing for self promotion. And I should really read his BIO because I actually still have no idea who he is. Anyway, it’s an interesting phenomenon to me – this personal “connection” folks feel when they get followed or unfollowed.<\/p>\n Personally, I am not offended if I get unfollowed. And I don’t always follow back when someone follows me. And I don’t expect someone to follow me back if I follow them.<\/p>\n Instead, I’m MUCH more interested if people engage me on Twitter with @mention’s. And if someone I ask a question on twitter does not even answer? Well, that bums me out. I may not follow everyone, but I really try to always reply if someone reaches out to me.<\/p>\n So, to sum up on this ‘fake’ post: If you want people to notice you, don’t FOLLOW them or UNFOLLOW them.
