I need to stop saying, &ldquo;um.&rdquo; Thank you to the kind people who came up to me after to say I did a good job.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PR Peeps Should Stalk Media Peeps Before Pitching<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Seemed like the big take-away from the panel for PR professionals was to follow writers\/editors\/publications on social media platforms so you can target your pitch better. The panel agreed that Twitter was the best venue. If you can help a writer save 30 minutes or an hour for a piece by providing relevant information, they will take notice, and possibly use your info. Also, Jason had <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/lulugrimm\/status\/14363206778\" rel=\"noopener\">a great take<\/a> about how news peeps don&rsquo;t have time to meet PR peeps face to face over coffee anymore:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Today there is no coffee  shop. The coffee shop is now Twitter and Facebook.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Speaking of Coffee&hellip;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The other big take-away was (literally) a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.psbpr.com\" rel=\"noopener\">Padilla Speer Beardsley<\/a> coffee mug, which I subconsciously announced I was going to steal for next week&rsquo;s <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.MugshotMonday.com\" rel=\"noopener\">Mugshot Monday<\/a>. The event was held at the very cool Padilla Speer Bearsley space. Now I&rsquo;ve got two more coffee mugs, and then I&rsquo;m week to week.<\/p>\n<p>For the record, I got permission to steal the coffee mug.<\/p>\n<p>Many thanks to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/JasonSprenger\" rel=\"noopener\">Jason Sprenger<\/a> for inviting me to be on the panel.
