Also, I actually wasn&rsquo;t looking to Rickroll anyone. Really!<\/p>\n<p>I only wanted to make absolutely sure people knew I was JOKING when I twittered a fake headline. Especially because the headline had to do with my coworker&rsquo;s job (that would be David Brauer, @<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/dbrauer\" rel=\"noopener\">dbrauer<\/a> on the Twitter).<\/p>\n<p>Two consecutive tweets hopfully explain this joke:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span class=\"status-content\">Just read &ldquo;Should @<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/MinnPost\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MinnPost<\/a> run a disclaimer on its gubernatorial coverage?&rdquo; <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/djXZDv\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/bit.ly\/djXZDv<\/a> by @<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/dbrauer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dbrauer<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"status-content\">Now reading &ldquo;Should @<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/dbrauer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dbrauer<\/a> start looking for a new job?&rdquo; <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/98K8eH\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/bit.ly\/98K8eH <\/a><strong><em><span class=\"tweet-url web\">[careful, that&rsquo;s the Rickroll link]<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>David Brauer, MinnPost&rsquo;s Media critic (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/minnpost.com\/braublog\" rel=\"noopener\">read him here<\/a>), always has the crappy gig of working in the very arena in which he reports. It can get pretty meta sometimes, and Brauer does a very good job. Particularly when he reports on his own employer.<\/p>\n<p>I <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/bigboxcar\/status\/19678895687\" rel=\"noopener\">apologized<\/a> to my followers who said they clicked on the fake headline link &ndash; Not all of the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/98K8eH+\" rel=\"noopener\">74 clicks<\/a> resulted <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/cecilmenk\/status\/19676764262\" rel=\"noopener\">in<\/a> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/sloped\/status\/19677937757\" rel=\"noopener\">people<\/a> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/juliaschrenkler\/status\/19678715926\" rel=\"noopener\">yelling<\/a> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/garciasn\/status\/19679533497\" rel=\"noopener\">at<\/a> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/MnBizMag\/status\/19676795648\" rel=\"noopener\">me<\/a>. Many probably rolled their eyes, closed the browser window, and just unfollowed me. I was truly very sorry.
